Peace....gee what a thought
Iam re-posting a poem that was published by Poetry.com, called, "Peace". I had posted it on this blog around the July 4th Holiday. With all of the fighting, and terrorist threats that are going on around the World, and here at home, I think that we as a People deserve some..."Peace".
I was nominated by the
International Society of Poets to be their 2006 Poet Of The Year, for this poem, and I think it fits right in with what you have already read here.
"Peace"
Through the ages we have fought for Peace
This makes no sense to say the least,
Warriors fight for Truth and God
That very statement seems so odd
Of the religions that exist in society,
One over another there is no propriety,
Regardless of Prophets they may embrace
God has one face, it is one of Peace
All of this fighting has to cease !
Lay down your arms and take a look
See a new chapter in this World book
Trust is the tool which Peace is made
Instead of destroying offer aide!
Keep your beliefs and keep them strong,
Look within your prophet sing his song
You will understand a different way
That all lands should be free to all,
To go where you want to without reprise,
To be as equal a person in everyone's eyes.
